There’s an old saying that goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And after 25, the name of the game is preventative beauty. So in honor of the 50 Shades film release, here are 25 tips for looking your best from your mid twenties and beyond!

1. Drink Lots of Water.

Staying hydrated is key. If regular water bores you, infuse your sips with lemon, cucumber, or some other produce.

2. Exercise

Find something that works for you–yoga, rock climbing, running–and do it at least three times a week.

3. Exfoliate

Whether you’re partial to physical or chemical exfoliants, sloughing off dead skin is important for cell regeneration and creates that “healthy glow.”

4. Wear Sunscreen

If you want to look tan, invest in a spray or bottled tanner. Other than that, stick to SPF 15 at the very least and apply to face, hands, and any other exposed areas.

5. Eat Well

Moderation is key with sugar, salt, and alcohol. Splurge and allow yourself indulgences, but seek out a balanced diet heavy in vegetables, fruits, good fats, and lean protein.

This can have an aging effect and draw attention to the creases in your skin. Instead, cover problem areas and let skin breathe.
